Welcome to Community Preparatory School.
Whether you are a prospective family exploring educational options, an alumnus returning to reconnect, a current student, caregiver, or staff member, or someone learning about our mission for the first time, I am delighted that you are here.
Community Prep is much more than a school. It is a place where young people are challenged academically, known personally, and inspired to become thoughtful leaders who make a positive contribution to the world around them. Since our founding in 1984, our mission has remained steadfast: to empower a diverse student body to reach its full academic and leadership potential while building a Beloved Community.
That mission is deeply personal to me.
As a twelve-year-old student growing up in Providence, I was fortunate to become part of the Community Prep family. The education, relationships, and sense of belonging I found here shaped the course of my life. They opened doors I could not yet imagine and instilled in me a lifelong belief in the transformative power of education, high expectations, and authentic human connection.
Returning to Community Prep as Head of School is both an extraordinary privilege and a profound responsibility.
Our school stands at an exciting moment in its history. We are building upon an exceptional foundation while looking boldly toward the future. Together with our faculty, staff, trustees, families, alumni, and friends, we are asking an important question:
What's possible?
What is possible for every child who walks through our doors?
What is possible when a community believes deeply in the potential of every student?
What is possible when academic excellence, character development, and joyful belonging are pursued together?
These questions guide our work every day.
At Community Prep, we believe that every student deserves to be known, challenged, encouraged, and loved. Our students are not simply preparing for high school—they are discovering who they are, what they value, and how they can positively shape their communities.
As Head of School, my commitment is to preserve the heart of Community Prep while thoughtfully preparing our school for the future. We will continue to strengthen our academic program, deepen our partnerships with families and the broader community, cultivate a culture of belonging, and ensure that financial circumstances never prevent talented and deserving students from accessing a Community Prep education.
