| Our Beloved Community |
On February 12, students in Community Preparatory School’s Lawyers’ Club, led by Bob McConnell, visited Hope Court, where they had the opportunity to see how the justice system supports individuals on parole as they work to rebuild their lives.
During the visit, students observed a live hearing, sat in the jury box, and learned about the court’s four-step program designed to help participants become stable, contributing members of their communities while reducing repeat offenses. The experience offered a real-world look at how accountability and support work together within the justice system.
Students also met and heard from members of the court community, including Jack McConnell, and shared pizza and conversation with individuals involved in the program. These conversations helped deepen their understanding of the challenges and opportunities people face as they reenter society.
Thank you to Bob McConnell, Judge McConnell, Tatyana Cobbin, and Alejandro Perez for creating such a meaningful and memorable experience for our students.
