Dear CP Family,
Community Preparatory School will be shifting from in-person to full distance learning beginning November 23. We will resume in-person learning on Tuesday, January 5.
Our School Reopening Team convened on November 17. We looked at the data around community spread; the numbers are concerning, particularly in the communities we serve. Given current trends, it seems likely the numbers will increase over the holidays. CP remains a safe environment that adheres to appropriate measures to prevent or limit the spread of the virus, and we have not to date had any virus spread among students or faculty during the school day. However, we feel that shifting to a full distance learning model is necessary at present for community safety and to provide as much consistency across the school as possible during what are going to be some challenging weeks ahead. Having all of our students on the same platform will allow teachers to provide more consistent instruction.
Here’s how the days break down between now and the new year:
- Nov. 23 - 24: Distance learning days
- Nov. 25 - 27: No school - Thanksgiving Break
- Nov. 30 - Dec. 23: Distance learning days
- Dec. 24 - Jan. 1: No school - Winter Break
- Jan. 4: Distance learning day
- Jan. 5: Return to in-person learning
I want to thank all of you for your continued communication and support. I feel grateful every day to be a member of the CP Family. We will get through this together.
