PrepPlus
PrepPlus, the school's academic support and enrichment program, runs from 7:15 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Among its staff members are high school and college-age Community Prep graduates who serve as tutors and mentors. Brown University students, RISD students and local residents also serve as volunteers.
Offerings include:
an after-school silent study with teachers and tutors
group and individual tutoring sessions offered before, during and after school hours with tutors, mentors and the school's reading specialists
supervised use of the school's computer room and library
an after-school enrichment program that includes:
music lessons
sports and recreation
arts and crafts: sewing, scrapbooking, jewelry making
performance arts: drama, poetry, playwriting, dance (jazz, modern, hip-hop, step, salsa)
media arts: photography, film
robotics and engineering
chess team
green club
gardening club and composting
Field trips
Fun Friday's: Community Service, Providence Public Library, Field Trips, Movie & Pizza Day

Fee Discount Deadlines: One-time, non-refundable registration fee: $25 (due August 1, 2011) First trimester: $200 (due August 31, 2011) Second trimester: $200 (due December 5, 2011) Third trimester: $200 (due March 19, 2012)
Regular Fees (after discount deadlines): $15/day, due each day at pick-up. Additional charges apply for field trips. Late fees will apply for students picked up after 5:15 p.m.
Financial Aid: There is no financial aid available for the Prep+ After-School Program. However, DHS Childcare arrangements are accepted. Call 415-8200 to apply for DHS Childcare assistance. You can also pick up an application at 206 Elmwood Avenue, Providence RI.
