PrepPlus
PrepPlus, the school's academic support and enrichment program, runs from 7:15 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Among its staff members are high school and college-age Community Prep graduates who serve as tutors and mentors.
Offerings include:
- an after-school silent study with teachers and tutors
- group and individual tutoring sessions offered before, during and after school hours with tutors, mentors and the school's reading specialist
- an after-school enrichment program that includes:
- music lessons
- arts and crafts
- sports and recreation
- graphic design
- local foods project
- field trips (for example, a class in the dark room at AS220, a hike to Purgatory Chasm, a trip to a farm, or an afternoon at the movies)
- playwriting, drama club and performances
- supervised use of the school's computer room and library
