PrepPlus

PrepPlus, the school's academic support and enrichment program, runs from 7:15 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Among its staff members are high school and college-age Community Prep graduates who serve as tutors and mentors.

Offerings include:
  • an after-school silent study with teachers and tutors
  • group and individual tutoring sessions offered before, during and after school hours with tutors, mentors and the school's reading specialist
  • an after-school enrichment program that includes:
    • music lessons
    • arts and crafts
    • sports and recreation
    • graphic design
    • local foods project
    • field trips (for example, a class in the dark room at AS220, a hike to Purgatory Chasm, a trip to a farm, or an afternoon at the movies)
    • playwriting, drama club and performances
  • supervised use of the school's computer room and library
